In the research area you will find recent benchmarks where we document which routines are faster. For example, is it faster to use "if/else/then" versus "case". Or are procedure calls faster than function calls.
The past decade I have been involved in a wide range of data sharing and data searching projects. I have released some very interesting algorithms (SoundEx, Metaphone, Levenshtein, Similarity, etc) in the Research area.
In the tools section you will find a button to take you to our code highlighter. This is the same engine we use for all code snippets in the articles section. If you would like to convert your code to HTML for posting on these message boards, or just for your web site or blog - please feel free to. The only thing we ask is if you use it for external sites - to please reference http://www.friends-of-fpc.org in your posting.
If you are signed on, you will be able to click on the text of any message you have previously written and fix information. Please be considerate and sign your revised message(s) with "Edited @now@" (of course now has to be uppercase to match and execute on the server).

For the most part, the search engine is 100% complete. It reindexes the server cluster every 300 seconds. I picked such a small interval, as I am expecting the message area of this site to be extremely popular.
As you can see, the message base is now online. I am not finished with the threading (reply/edit) yet. However, you can create a new topic, you can create new messages on a topic. I will try to wrap up edit and then reply very shortly.

Well, today I migrated everything over to a new IBM Blade Center, with 6 redundant web servers now, and a dedicate drive array -- I have spent the past 72 hours testing everything I could think of. And it appears that everything is working.
